See You in Court Tomorrow!

The NATO 3–Brent Betterly, Jared Chase, Brian Jacob Church–start trial tomorrow morning at 11am. We hope many of you were able to sign up on Friday to join us in court tomorrow morning (everyone must be seated by 10:40am). If you have not registered to attend trial yet, you can do so on any weekday from 2-5pm. Read the Cook County Sheriff’s spectator regulations for the details. Remember that registering requires a background check for open warrants. Also remember that the judge’s NATO 3 Trial Decorum Order will be in effect at all times.

When you come to court, you’ll see members of the NATO 3 Defense Committee there supporting the defendants. We’re also there to help you figure out what’s going on in court and what will be to come. Please approach us with any questions. No members of the public, including the defendants’ families, will be able to talk to the defendants directly. We also ask supporters not to distract the lawyers with questions, as their full attention will need to be on fighting for our comrades to go free.

Some of the roles you’ll see us playing are helping people figure out the public viewing regulations and trial decorum order, engaging with the media (mainstream and independent), and taking court notes for our defense committee purposes. We ask that supporters defer all media inquiries and requests for interviews to us and the legal team.

Thank you for standing in solidarity with the NATO 3! They need your support now more than ever and have expressed their gratitude for the outpouring of support they have been receiving. Please continue sending them letters, donating to their legal defense fund, getting NATO 3 t-shirts from us, and hosting NATO 3 solidarity events!
